It's Showtime!

The pilot for a new documentary series has just been completed. "It's Showtime" follows the production of an amateur musical from beginning to end. It's a real life "Waiting for Guffman".

Produced by Alberta Nokes and Carol Hay, and directed by Markham Cook, the series is projected to go into production in the fall of 2011.

Brussels International Archaeological Film Festival

Markham Cook won the Special Jury Prize at the Eighth Brussels International Archaeological Film Festival for an episode of The Naked Archaeologist called "A Nabatean by Any Other Name".

Past winners of the award include PBS's Nova, and the BBC.

Among the competitors this year was Oscar nominee Christian Frei for his film "The Giant Buddhas".

The Awards were presented in December at the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels.
